Nature Camp Visit at Village Lotihir, Bishnupur – Bodhodoy

On December 15, 2024, three members of Relearn Foundation—Deepak Dhivar, Laxmi Dhibar, and Laxmi Soren—visited Lotihir village, Bishnupur, West Bengal, to attend a nature camp organized by Bodhodoy NGO. Invited by Mr. Panthodip Bandyopadhyay, they arrived at noon on the camp’s final day. The camp, set in an open field in Lotihir village, around 84 students, along with their teachers and other team members, were present who had spent two days in tents, facing extreme temperature variations. Over the previous two days, Students participated in activities like mountain climbing, river crossing, learning how to behave with animals in the forest, what to do in case of a snake bite, and other similar activities. On the last day, teachers gathered feedback and delivered motivational speeches, emphasizing the importance of balancing sports and studies. They explained how activities like mountaineering or football can improve physical fitness and even lead to professional careers. The students had a highly positive experience, gaining confidence, teamwork skills, and career insights. The organizers expressed their gratitude to Relearn Foundation, particularly to Dr. Mita Tarafder, for their support and presented a memento in appreciation. Lunch was provided for all, followed by a Clothing Distribution mission, where clothes were distributed to villagers in need. The community warmly welcomed this effort. By 4:00 PM, the team departed, feeling grateful for the opportunity to engage with nature and contribute to the community. The visit was a memorable and enriching experience.
