On 17th April 2025, Mr. Deepak Dhibar visited the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Kolkata, to showcase his innovative projects to faculty members and students. The event was part of a mentorship session conducted by Dr. Mita Tarafder, Chief of Relearn Foundation, under the Capacity Building for Design and Entrepreneurship (CBDE) program. This initiative is a part of the Malaviya Mission of Technical Training Programme by IIEST, IIIE, and the Ministry of Education. Mr. Dhibar presented a range of practical and sustainable solutions, highlighting the use of IoT and recycled electronics. His key project was an Automatic Irrigation System with IoT mobile connectivity, designed to support smart and efficient farming. The system uses a moisture sensor to detect soil dryness and automatically activate irrigation, helping conserve water and reduce manual labor. He also demonstrated several innovative devices created from electronic waste, including: A moisture sensor repurposed from an old DVD drive, A Lithium-ion battery checker to test the health of used batteries, A Charger light emergency unit made from tube light waste. The event emphasized the importance of innovation, sustainability, and hands-on learning. It inspired students to explore low-cost, eco-friendly solutions and think creatively about technology and entrepreneurship.
