Teachers Day and Birthday Celebration of Prof. Prabal Kr. Sen
5th September is celebrated as Teacher’s Day all over India, but for us at Relearn Foundation (ReLF) this day also marks the birth anniversary of our Founder & Teacher, Prof. Prabal Kr. Sen. So an online event was organised by ReLF members to celebrate this day and commemorate our beloved teachers all over Bihar, Jharkhand & West Bengal.
The event started at 7pm with Dr. Mita Tarafder making the welcome speech. All those present celebrated Prof. Sen’s birthday by singing a birthday song followed by his speech.
Our facilitators, mainly Mr. Panthodip Bandhyopadhyay had already arranged to hand over Teacher’s Day certificate earlier to all the grass-root tutors of Sahaaj Pathshala which they gladly accepted and displayed during the online event.
The programme continued with many of the tutors describing about their centre, hurdles they face in teaching, ReLF’s support to overcome them, and few of them even recited poetry & sang song to pay tribute towards Prof. Sen’s birthday.
Some recorded recitations from students of Puara centre, Purulia were also showcased. Mr. P. Bandhyopadhyay gave descriptions about the centres in Purulia and Bankura. ReLF member and ex-facilitator, Dr. Subhra Dwivedy talked about the prominence and origin of Teachers day, which started in 1962 to honour the birthday of philosopher, scholar, and second President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
Lastly a vote of thanks was given by Ms. Pritha Dhali to all the teachers, facilitators and team members of Relearn Foundation to conclude the fruitful event.
