Three-Day Workshop on Soft Skills & Employability

An online workshop on “Soft Skills & Employability” was successfully conducted in three sessions by Relearn Foundation. The sessions were led by Dr. Mita Tarafder, a former Chief Scientist at CSIR-NML, Jamshedpur, and a Master Trainer with NSDC. The primary goal of the workshop was to equip participants with essential soft skills to enhance their employability and professional effectiveness in the workplace.

The three-day workshop took place from March 17th to 19th, 2025, with sessions held daily from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Each session focused on key areas crucial for both personal and professional development.

  • Day 1: Participants explored Communication Skills and Self-Management. Dr. Tarafder emphasized the importance of both verbal and non-verbal communication in professional settings. Additionally, self-management techniques were discussed, covering time management, stress management, and self-discipline to maintain a productive work-life balance.
  • Day 2: The session focused on Problem-Solving Techniques. Participants were encouraged to develop critical thinking and decision-making skills. Real-life scenarios were analyzed to demonstrate how effective problem-solving strategies could be applied in professional environments.
  • Day 3: The final session centered on Interpersonal Skills, particularly effective interaction with colleagues, supervisors, and customers. Dr. Tarafder explained the significance of conflict resolution, active listening, and empathy in fostering a positive and productive workplace. The session also covered effective communication with supervisors and team leaders, emphasizing clear, respectful, and constructive dialogue.

Throughout the workshop, Dr. Tarafder engaged participants with relatable examples and practical insights, making complex concepts easy to grasp and apply. The workshop concluded on a high note, with participants gaining a stronger understanding of the soft skills necessary to succeed in today’s competitive job market. The sessions were well-received, with attendees appreciating the clarity and real-world applicability of the content.
