



Relearn Foundation Celebrates World Biofuel Day on August 10, 2024, from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm via Google Meet, hosted by Ms. Chandra Mukherjee, Member of the Relearn Foundation. The event aimed to raise awareness about biofuels’ crucial role in reducing carbon footprints and promoting sustainable energy. The event commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Prabal Kumar Sen, Chairman of Relearn Foundation, who inaugurated the event, emphasizing biofuels’ importance in mitigating climate change. Dr. Sanghita Mridha, the Secretary, highlighted Relearn Foundation’s activities in Education, Environment, and Empowerment, focusing on sustainable development. Dr. Mita Tarafder, Chief of Relearn Foundation, introduced the respected speaker, Dr. Krishnendu Kundu, Senior Principal Scientist, CSIR-CMERI, Durgapur, West Bengal. She also highlighted the significance of biofuels in sustainable energy solutions. Dr. Krishnendu Kundu presented a detailed lecture on biofuels, encompassing various aspects such as production, optimization, briquetting, algae as a source, waste-to-wealth conversion, and technologies of CSIR-CMERI. A flyer-making competition on the theme of Biofuel Day using the software Canva was organized for local schools, where 25 students participated, and their creative submissions were uploaded on the Facebook page “Greenovation”. Prof. Prabal Kumar Sen announced the winners Tanisha Chatterjee (1st), Isha Dutta (2nd), and Pilla Sai Deepak Rao (3rd), congratulated them on their efforts and creativity, encouraging others to explore biofuels. Ms. Chandra Mukherjee extended thanks to the speaker, participants, and organizers. The virtual event successfully promoted biofuel awareness, encouraging young minds to explore sustainable energy solutions. Relearn Foundation’s initiative demonstrated its commitment to fostering a greener future, concluding positively, and inspiring participants to contribute to a sustainable tomorrow.
